MCCC is currently seeking a strong academician to serve as the new Dean of Academic and Student Affairs for the West Campus. Reporting to the Vice President of the West Campus, the new Dean will provide onsite management and strategic leadership for Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Enrollment Management. Working in collaboration with the College’s academic deans, Dean of Student Affairs, and Executive Director of Enrollment Services, the Dean will facilitate the delivery of outstanding academic (credit and non-credit), enrollment management, and student affairs programs. The Dean will participate on the leadership teams of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Provost, and the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Serving as the Academic Affairs representative of the West Campus, the Dean will collaborate with all institutional units to advance the College’s Strategic Initiatives; recruit, identify and prepare faculty to teach; and resolve student and faculty concerns in collaboration with Divisional Deans. Serving as a resource for both faculty and students, the Dean will advocate for at-risk students; provide strategic input into the Academic Strategic Plan; lead, manage, and supervise the Student Success Center; serve as the judicial officer; and oversee performance measures, standards, and learning outcomes.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will be an academic professional with a minimum of three years of teaching and three years of administrative experience at the post-secondary level. A commitment to excellence in teaching and learning in and out of the classroom is necessary. Required is understanding and experience aligning academic affairs, student affairs, and enrollment management leadership. Experience with curriculum development, and a commitment to the dual tenets of access and success are necessary. S/he will possess superb leadership abilities with excellent communication skills and strong personal qualities of honesty, integrity, enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and creativity. The ability to work well with different people from diverse backgrounds and communities promoting cooperative interactions and outcomes is essential. The successful candidate must possess a doctorate in higher education or related field. Doctoral students will be considered.
