  • Manages financial aid activities and represents the office at on-campus and off-campus meetings and forums
  • Manages day-to day administrative and systems operations for optimal efficiency and customer service; manages special processes such as Return of Title IV Aid
  • Provides comprehensive financial counseling to parents and students
  • Implements all necessary processes to support financial aid application, awarding and delivery cycles
  • Oversees the coordination of financial aid activities with those of other College and University offices
  • Implements and maintains web based services
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Associate Director will assist in planning, developing, and implementing the policies and compliance activities of the Office of Student Financial Aid. Serving as the deputy to the Director, the Associate Director will, in the absence of the Director, supervise all activities of the office and represent the office at on-campus and off-campus meetings and forums. In addition, the Associate Director:

  • Manages day-to-day administrative operations of the Student Financial Aid Office and the Hub for optimal efficiency and optimal level of student service.
  • Implements all necessary processes to support the financial aid application, awarding, and delivery cycles.
  • Manages, resolves, and responds to critiques and appeals of office decisions and application outcomes by students and parents.
  • Trains financial aid support personnel in servicing students, parents, and other clientele.
  • Coordinates office services with other college and University offices.
  • Enhances and maintains information on the CSI Financial Aid web site.
  • Implements new web based services to improve the delivery of financial aid services to students.
  • Coordinates the Financial Aid role in the CUNY Honors College program.
  • Provides comprehensive financial counseling to parents and students.


Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.


The ideal candidate will also have a strategic understanding of the integral role of financial aid in enrollment management. Highly desired are higher education experience, including increasing supervisory responsibilities; demonstrated success managing operations of a high-volume Financial Aid Office at a public or private institution; knowledgeable of federal, state, and local financial aid policies, procedures, and regulations with particular emphasis on PELL, Direct Loans, Perkins Loans, Federal Work-Study, and other Title IV programs as well as TAP, and the ability to manage, train, and develop staff. Experience with PeopleSoft ERP preferred.
