Oversees a broad range of fiscal and program responsibilities for Continuing Education and related external programs - Provides leadership for the development and implementation of new programs of study and ensures the coordination and implementation of program components. - Plans, markets and implements College programs in Continuing Education, developing overall programs and overseeing development of content, budgets, and marketing strategies. - Develops funding proposals; solicits grant information and provides leadership and guidance in partnering with community and governmental agencies. - Provide fiscal oversight and evaluation; develops strategic and operating plans; reports progress and results to management. - Oversees a comprehensive marketing and public information program. - Manages staff of the Continuing Education office. - Represents Continuing Education within the College community and externally. - Performs related duties as assigned. Higher Education Officer


The Director of Continuing Education, reporting to the President's Office, supervises multiple and varied credit, non-credit, and certificate programs funded through the University, grants, contracts, or on a fee basis. Programs are concentrated in the areas of workforce/career development; professional development; adult education; remedial reading, writing and math; ESL; intellectual and developmental disabilities; and community-based activities. As its visionary leader, the Director is responsible for growing and advancing the Department of Continuing Education and Professional Development consistent with the College's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan. The Director is responsible for budget and personnel operations; program assessment, course scheduling; grant applications to city, state, federal, corporate and private funding sources; and developing workforce/career and community centered fee-based programs. The Director develops and strengthens programs through analysis of current labor trends, overseeing marketing strategies, creating partnerships with College academic departments and other areas across campus, and strengthening community outreach and collaboration.


Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience.


Master's degree in a related field and higher education experience preferred. Experience with developing and implementing successful credit, non-credit, and certificate programs in areas such as workforce/career development, professional development, adult education, remediation, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and community-based activities. Experience in grant writing, creating partnerships with College academic departments and other areas across campus, and strengthening community outreach and collaboration.
