Health Policy Post-Doctoral Researcher
THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION. EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTINUED FUNDING BY THE GRANT PROVIDER. THIS POSITION IS CURRENTLY FUNDED THROUGH AUGUST 31, 2015. THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE HCOM CENTRAL OHIO EXTENSION CAMPUS IN DUBLIN, OH.

he Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine is a leader in providing a patient-centered, clinically integrated medical education continuum, from pre-medical education to undergraduate medical education, and on through residency training, with an emphasis on primary care. Our focused research and community health programs speak to our commitment to improving health and well-being in our communities and quality of life for our patients.

The state’s only osteopathic medical school, our college was founded in 1975 and is located at Ohio University’s Athens, Ohio campus. Our central Ohio campus, located in Dublin, Ohio, opens for classes July 2014.

Position Summary:

Post-doctoral research position in health policy, with an emphasis on health systems and quality measures especially in pediatrics within the context of health care reform. The successful candidate will participate in collaborative research including but not limited to conducting literature reviews, evaluating policy documents, collecting and analyzing data, conducting interviews and manuscript preparation. Co-authoring as well as research assistance for journal articles conference papers, and possibly book manuscripts. Assists with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research.

-Research assistance, co-authoring, manuscript preparation.
-Grant writing.

Minimum Qualifications:

-Masters or Doctoral Degree in Public Policy or Public Health or related field.
-At least 1 year of work related experience.
-Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts and practices and the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.
-Knowledge of health care reform, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and new health delivery systems (especially Accountable Care Organizations) is a must.
-Superior analytic, research and writing skills.
-Experience working with scholarly journals and statistical analysis.
