Chief Information Officer
SUNY College at Old Westbury invites nominations and applications from experienced technology professionals for the position of Chief Information Officer. The CIO will oversee all aspects of the College’s Information and Instructional Technology, including but not limited to campus-wide networks, software systems, servers and personal computers, IT support, and university-wide initiatives. The successful candidate will lead a group of approximately 22 staff and managers providing academic, administrative, telecommunications and audio visual services to the 4,300 students, and 500 faculty and staff in the campus community. Services are provisioned using a combination of SAAS, IAAS, in public and private clouds, and the on-campus data center. We seek an innovative leader with technical acumen and strong communication skills, capable of filling a combined CIO, CTO, ISO position in a dynamic college environment. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in computer science is required and an advanced degree is preferred. The candidate will have at least 10 years of related experience in information security, large project management, institutional wide technology migrations, and vendor contract negotiations mandatory. Ability to write RFP's, architect enterprise systems, deal with complex and extended logistics chains highly desirable. Proven track record in accomplishing goals in a staff and resource constrained environment a plus. Demonstrated ability to lead, both personnel and technology required. The successful candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

Located on a 604 acre campus on Long Island, Nassau County, about 22 miles from New York City, SUNY Old Westbury comprises three Schools (Arts and Sciences, Business, Education). The College enrolls approximately 4,300 students, including over 200 graduate students. Old Westbury offers a sequestered setting and a quiet atmosphere dedicated to learning.
