Associate Dean for Assessment and Evalua

Drexel University College of Medicine, a premier academic medical education and research institution in Philadelphia, seeks a dynamic and scholarly leader for the position of Associate Dean for Evaluation and Assessment. The Associate Dean will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assessment and evaluation of the undergraduate medical education program leading to the MD degree, providing leadership in the collection and analysis of data to support a continuous quality improvement process. With over 1000 medical students, and a similar number of research-intensive PhD, cross-disciplinary Master’s, and pre-medical/pre-health graduate students, the College of Medicine has a reputation for innovation in education. The College recently received full accreditation from the LCME noting a number of strengths including our commitment to our 25 clinical campuses (currently including four regional campuses) and a comprehensive process for the evaluation of our education program. Currently the College is undertaking a systematic review of its undergraduate medical educational program and is seeking to position itself as a leader in medical education committed to training physicians, scientists and other health care professionals for the many changes in the practice of medicine and health care delivery. The successful candidate will possess a Master’s degree, M.D., Ph.D., or Ed.D. degree preferred and will have demonstrated success in the assessment and evaluation of innovative, future-oriented undergraduate medical education curricula. In addition, the candidate must have outstanding skills for building relationships, communicating effectively, inspiring others, and demonstrated accomplishments in working with diverse constituencies.
