- Assists management with planning and oversight of various athletics activities

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Reporting to the Director of Student Athletics, the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services is responsible for the following:
- Files NCAA relevant forms and materials including annual reports for NCAA certification and City University of NY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) correspondence.
- Oversees coaches' certification training and test-taking, as well as instructional correspondence with staff and student-athletes.
- Handles all facets of CSI Student
- Athlete eligibility to include recruiting lists, spreadsheets, eligibility tracking, etc. Files appeal forms and transfer requests. Serves as a liaison to coaches on eligibility issues and corresponds with enrollment management offices to monitor and assess continuing eligibility requirements and concerns.
- Serves as chair of the Committee on Student
- Athlete Appeals and presents appeals cases worthy of consideration.
- Provides mid-semester grade checks for coaches to include intervention to incorporate counseling and tutoring where necessary. Creates and monitors the student-athlete task force geared towards helping other students in need.
- Establishes a mandatory counseling program that monitors progress, attendance, coach involvement, student-athlete feedback, etc.
- Prepares proposals concerning possible study hall for freshman and peer tutoring ideas. Recommends strategies for improvement of academic integrity department-wide.
- Registers student-athletes, including add-drop provisions and monitors student-athletes schedules in respect to full-time status.
- Implements and monitors the recruiting system whereby all recruits are handled and filed by the Assistant Director for Compliance/Student-Athlete Services for timely mailings, paperwork, and other duties.
- Supervises and coordinates meetings/activities for the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
- Meets regularly with the Faculty Athletic Representative and Director of Athletics to discuss and disseminate information pertaining to athletics and faculty, and newest NCAA legislature affecting students in the classroom.
- Meets regularly with the college's Compliance Team to provide updates regarding any NCAA, CUNYAC, or CSI compliance matters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in sports administration preferred and experience in intercollegiate athletics administration at the campus, conference, or NCAA level highly desired.
COMPENSATION
Commensurate with experience.
