GENERAL DUTIES

Supports projects, initiatives, and activities that impact an academic or administrative department.

  • Manages basic office functions such as communications, meeting schedules, work plans, staff assignments, and distributing information.
  • Collects data for, prepares, and distributes reports and presentations using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Updates office databases, lists, and files to ensure completeness and accuracy; maintains current information on department web site(s); maintains department archives and collections.
  • Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.
  • Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.
  • Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
  • May supervise office staff and student workers.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The CUNY Start Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and operations support in a fast paced work environment including:- Bi-annual recruitment periods involving heavy student contact, collecting payments, registering students using the CERS system, and being responsible for all logistical tasks for implementation of CUNY Start Information Sessions including creating flyers and brochures. - Administration of a student incentive program including generating award letters, utilizing CUNY First to research student enrollment, conducting surveys, and submitting reports to central office staff as needed and according to deadlines.- Heavy data management and research.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.


OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working well with linguistically, culturally and academically diverse student cohorts
  • Demonstrated experience working in a time sensitive, student centered and responsive office
  • Computer proficiency and knowledge of standard office software programs and applications
  • Detail orientated with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and create systems which streamline office processes- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours when necessary


COMPENSATION

Commensurate with experience.
