The College of Engineering and Information Technology in collaboration with the Department of Education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) seeks applicants for a Project Director to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of a recently funded 4-year NSF grant project. The grant focuses on the integration of engineering practices in to secondary biology and technology education classes. The incumbent will coordinate with the various investigators as well as key project personnel from Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS). Specific duties include: monitoring, documenting and internally reporting project compliance with stated project research aims, activities and timelines; monitoring, documenting and internally reporting participant compliance with stated project data collection expectations; monitoring compliance with IRB human subject requirements by making sure all data collection instruments and information letters have been properly vetted and updated as required; coordinating communication between project stakeholders at UMBC and BCPS via electronic, written and face-to-face means; prioritizing and setting agenda items for maintaining project progress and general workflow; monitoring and documenting project progress by maintaining a database of project experimental and control populations; supervising hourly employees; acting as the initial contact point by monitoring project email, website and phone; and performing other duties as assigned. This position is grant funded for the duration of this particular project (September 2014 – August 31, 2017. Employment beyond August 31, 2017 is contingent upon additional grant funding).
