Associate Director, Writing, Communications & Outreach - NJIT’s Albert Dorman Honors College

Position Summary:
The Associate Director for Writing, Communications and Outreach at New Jersey Institute of Technology has the primary responsibility of supporting outreach events and communications activities that advance ADHC strategic priorities, in particular Strategic Priority 3, High Visibility through Technological Outreach & Partnerships. Key activities entail designing and deploying a segment-based marketing and communication strategy to reach various internal and external stakeholders using digital and communications tools relevant to the target audiences. The Associate Director will implement initiatives to guide stakeholders’ understanding and engagement with the Honors College portfolio of offerings. These will include developing print and digital materials suitable to diverse groups (current and prospective students, parents, alumni and affiliated parties). The position will also act as a technical and editorial advisor for student-related writing projects, both academic (thesis, academic and professional articles) and marketing-based (either deployed through social media or professional publications). The Associate Director reports to the Dean and collaborates with the Assistant Deans and other Directors of the College to further ADHC’s vision and mission.

Pre-requisite Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an earned Master's in a relevant area related to the position. An earned doctorate and a record of teaching and research that is aligned with NJIT priority growth areas and the Honors College strategic goals is a plus. Extensive knowledge of learning management systems, digital and social media and web design principles is essential, including familiarity with tools such as MS Publisher, Adobe Page Maker, other Adobe products, or similar publishing tools. Understanding of assessment mechanisms and ability to analyze assessment outcomes using qualitative and quantitative statistical techniques is important. Experience in digital learning and communications, research methods and writing assessment is needed. The successful candidate should be able to work with students in a mentoring and advising capacity.
