Audio Visual Technician
Purpose of Position
When this job is done well, the following outcomes result:
 Successful in house fabrication
 Assigned tasks are executed to the satisfaction of the Install Manager
 Assigned tasks are executed cost-effectively to optimize profitability for the company
 Demonstration of team commitment to the joint goals of customer satisfaction and department profitability

Major Responsibilities (not tasks)
The person in this position is responsible for:
 Understanding the required tools, components, workmanship and packaging according to standards
 Fabricate, install, and test audio visual systems, or parts thereof, per documentation and established work process under direction of mentor

Major Duties
A person successfully executing the responsibilities of this position will perform the following major activities:
 Identify, measure, cut and prepare cable for termination
 Assembles equipment cabinets, mounts equipment and accessories per drawings and direction
 Records model and serial numbers of products, retrains product documents in orderly form
 Packages completed assemblies, instruction sheets, and correct parts for shipment
 Labels cables and equipment cabinets per drawings and standards

Other Duties
While not the major thrust of this position, the following tasks also need to be completed by the person in this job:
 Assisting with rack wiring and testing as assigned and according to skills as assigned
 Knows and adheres to VCA and industry standards of quality for these tasks
 Cleans and maintains both individual team and work spaces
 Education and training
 Other duties as may be assigned by the Install Manager

Performance
The degree to which the person in this position performs well will be determined by assessing performance in accord with the following criteria or measures:
 Utilization of time for billable jobs vs non-billable or administrative tasks
 Accuracy and timeliness of assigned tasks

The person in this position reports to:
 Installation Manager
The person in this position works closely with:
 Installation and fabrication team, Project Managers, T+V, Subcontractors, Warehouse
Tools and Equipment Used
The person in this post must be competent using the following hardware and software necessary in executing the responsibilities of the position:
 Hand Tools
 Microsoft Office
Qualifications
To perform well, the person in this position must have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and characteristics:
 Must be able to read functional drawings
 Ability to read or learn to read auto-cad drawings
 Entry level technical skills
 Ability to work with electronic components and equipment
 Able to transfer 75-120 lbs. with the help of another person, a distance of 6 feet
 Have a valid driver’s license and pass background check
