Asst/Assoc/Full Professor of Movement
The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Drama, seeks a highly experienced movement teacher to design and implement a 3-year movement sequence for actors in its nationally ranked BFA program. This is an opportunity for a highly experienced teacher to combine a variety of movement disciplines into their own unique and cohesive curriculum. The ideal candidate's background would include mask work, both neutral and character, clowning and circus skills, and might also include experience with Viewpoints, Suzuki, Grotowski, or any number of other established movement pedagogies. Experience with non-Western performance forms is also highly desirable. This individual will also play a substantial role in helping the school implement a new devised theatre curriculum. MFA or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Having recently installed a new dean, the UNCSA School of Drama is in an exciting period of examination and growth as it looks to build on its well documented history of offering outstanding training as demonstrated by the success of its alumni. Expansion of curricular offerings in cultural entrepreneurship and devised theater are just two of many ways the school hopes to evolve as part of its commitment to addressing the needs of a rapidly changing industry, and the school looks forward to finding a candidate excited to contribute to this evolution.

UNC School of the Arts strives to create an academic climate in which the dignity of all individuals is respected and maintained. Therefore, we celebrate diversity that includes, but is not limited to ability/disability, age, culture, ethnicity, gender, language, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.
