Position Summary
The Department of Health Sciences & Administration at the University of West Florida invites applications for a full-time, 9-month Health Economics Clinical Assistant Professor 121930. The position requires relocation to the Pensacola, Florida area.

Position Description

We seek candidates with experience in healthcare administration or a closely related field. The successful candidate will develop and teach undergraduate and/ or graduate courses in healthcare finance; participate in preparation of the specialization for CAHME accreditation; develop a program of scholarly activity; provide service to the University, the College of Health, and the Department of Health Sciences and Administration; and demonstrate leadership within their area of expertise. A normal teaching load is three courses per semester. Dependent on available funds, compensated teaching is expected during the summer. This position requires a commitment to collegiality, innovation in teaching and learning, professional development, and academic citizenship.


Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D., DBA, DrPH, MD, D.H.S., or E.D.B in Health Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management/Policy Science, Health Science, Health, Nursing, Management, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D., DBA, DrPH, MD, D.H.S., or E.D.B in Health Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management/Policy Science, Health Science, Health, Nursing, Management, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. ABDs will be considered if the degree will be during the Fall 2018 semester. Candidates should provide demonstrated potential for effective teaching using various delivery methods (this program is provided fully online); familiarity with AUPHA certification or CAHME accreditation; practical experience in the field of healthcare administration; record of or potential for scholarly activity, particularly in the area of healthcare economics and finance; record of or potential for successful grant writing; and demonstration of community outreach.
