Administrative Coordinator
Bennington College, a liberal arts college distinguished for its pioneering initiatives in higher education, seeks an energetic and detail-oriented Administrative Coordinator in the Field Work Term and Career Development Office. This person will join a dynamic team of professionals committed to the value of experiential learning and career exploration.

The Administrative Coordinator is integral to maintaining the smooth operation of a multifaceted department responsible for annually assisting 600 students in securing internships across the country and around the globe, and with helping seniors find employment after graduation. This position is designed for the unique individual who loves both organizing critical data and providing exceptional customer service to multiple constituents.

The Administrative Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of a wide range of administrative duties to support the day to day operation of the Office of Field Work Term and Career Development. Work assignments involve considerable judgment, tact, creativity and initiative. The position requires frequent contact with employees at all levels of the organization and both internal and external customers, including parents, faculty, alumni, donors, and community partners. Candidates must present an awareness of diversity and inclusion best practices and a strong affinity for working to support College students’ via career development resources.

Essential functions include:

-Managing all aspects of office operations, including budgets, office flow, supplies, and scheduling
-Serving as the front line point of contact for students coming in for appointments and walk-in questions
-Communicating to and on behalf of students and a wide range of stakeholders via email and phone; daily management of two high-volume email accounts
-Administering the allocation, distribution, and tracking of Field Work Term grants and fellowship stipend
-Coordinating special projects including Field Work Term fellowships and community partnerships
-Programming regular career development events on campus in partnership with College offices
-Writing and editing all communications text copy; managing communications project flow
-Data tracking and analysis related to student registrations for Field Work Term coordination
-Research and reporting related to career services and work-based learning initiatives
-Task supervision of a team of five student workers

We seek a team player--someone who is willing and nimble, able to jump in when needed, and can work collaboratively with others. The position requires excellent interpersonal and advising skills as well as strong technological skills, including CSM database management, familiarity with all aspects of Google and Microsoft Office Suites, including advanced proficiency with Excel. Professional communication skills and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing are essential; a minimum of two years experience in office administration and career development experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
