Reporting to the AVP and Controller, the primary duties of the Budget Director, are processing and analyzing budget reports, updating/maintaining policies and procedures for the Budget Office, and ensuring compliance with Saint Peter's University financial system security rules and regulations.
The Budget Director is responsible for creating the University's revenue, salary and operating budgets each fiscal year and managing these budgets throughout the year. The Budget Director provides support to all University departments to help manage their departmental budgets and assess throughout the year any anticipated variances as compared to budget. The Budget Director prepares Monthly fiscal year status and projection reports based on actual activity, assumptions, and historical trends along with department provided information. At fiscal year end, the Budget Director prepares year-end reporting. All employment requisitions (replacement and new positions) are approved by the Budget Director prior to Human Resources posting of the position. The Budget Director works closely with Human Resources in maintaining position information along with ensuring that the financial impact of employee changes throughout the year are captured.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degrees
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication and computer skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet various deadlines
• Knowledge of University practices and procedures preferred
