Research Assistant Librarian
POSITION DESCRIPTION: As a Library Technology Management and Services (LTMS) Researcher, this non-tenure-track faculty position engages in theorectical and applied research and development in LTMS, and may engage in the MSLIS Program for instructional design assistance, part-time teaching, and research. Research emphases include but are not limited to advanced theorectical constructs in the application of relevant emerging technologies toward innovative instructional design and informatics. This position works with other LTMS staff, other library faculty and staff, MSLIS faculty and staff, the TTU community, other academic institutions, and other research partners in a variety of collaborative, transdisciplinary ways.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Exemplifies autonomous work performance, attitude, and ethics that are highly collaborative, productive, and measureable-results oriented.
* Serves in a research consulting role for the TTU Library and the MSLIS Program as desired or needed.
* Actively and frequently pursues relevant external funding opportunities to support and advance appropriate ongoing research agendas and projects.
* Manages the LTMS Informatics Media Lab and all associated resources.
* Publishes and presents research results in relevant professional publications and venues.
* Is involved in relevant LTMS knowledge management and assessment activities.
* Plans, collaborates, and otherwise participates in relevanty outreach efforts to develop beneficial partnerships, activities, and events.
* Serves as a member on (or as a resource to) Library and MSLIS committees, teams, and task forces as appointed or as circumstances warrant.
* May serve as a mentor or a protégé within the LTMS department and/or amongst the Library or MSLIS faculty and staff.
* Pursues relevant and appropriate professional development and service activities that align with and support the mission and vision of the Library, the MSLIS Program, and the University.
* Follows established and published policies and procedures of the University.
* Reports to the LTMS Associate Dean.
* Supports and sustains the Library's and MSLIS Program's administrative leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required: Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program or international equivalent or advanced degree in a related field. Preferred: Collaborative research experience in informatics and instructional design, with experience in pursuing federal research grants.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: The position is a 12-month appointment with a nationally competitive salary.
