Assistant Director for Electronic Resources
The Florida Virtual Campus invites applications for the full-time position of Assistant Director for Electronic Resources, position # 123140. This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the licensing, ordering, and renewal of electronic resources for the state funded resources available to the SUS and FCS, as well as the annual group licensing process. This position has supervisory responsibilities. This position reports to the Director of E-Resources and Digital Services of the Florida Academic Library Services Cooperative (FALSC).
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization with four (4) years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree from a library program accredited by the American Library Association preferred.
• Five years of recent (within the last two years) academic library or library consortium experience preferred.
• Experience with budget management and expenditure analysis.
• Experience with integrated library systems and related search and discovery products and demonstrated understanding of the trends related to the ongoing development of emerging technologies in this arena.
• Excellent understanding of acquisitions technology, including integrated library systems, and electronic resource management systems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with vendors and other external customers.
• Experience in contract and license negotiation and demonstrated successful outcomes in these endeavors.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic statistical methodology, analytical, and evaluation skills to evaluate usage data and make recommendations for electronic resources to internal and external customers.
• Experience in the management and analysis of e-resources usage data that includes evidence of leadership in collection assessment initiatives including analyzing data and producing reports.
• Demonstrated project management and team leadership of individuals and groups.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and respond creatively to administrative/management issues and service opportunities.
• Awareness of current trends, issues, and accepted practices in electronic resources management.
• Evidence of active professional engagement including publications and presentations.
Salary Range: $68,000-$76,000
Location: This position will be located Tallahassee.
The Florida Virtual Campus has offices in Pensacola, Tallahassee and Gainesville.
