Job Description:
The Senior Director of Major Gifts and Gift Planning is responsible securing philanthropic gifts of $25,000 or more, developing prospect strategies, cultivation, solicitation and follow up activities with major gift prospects and donors. The position requires: demonstrated leadership working with volunteers, administrators, and managing a development staff; experience with moves management system; a deep understanding of gift planning and creativity in helping to develop new programs and methods. The Senior Director of Major Gifts and Gift Planning reports to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement and has responsibility for managing the major gift and gift planning staff. The Senior Director will be strategically oriented, knowledgeable and experienced with major gifts fundraising, gift planning and capital campaigns, highly motivated, and a team player who is goal oriented. Extensive Travel Required.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred
• 6 - 8 years of experience in fundraising, preferably in higher education, with at least five (5) years of experience involving the solicitation of major gifts and/or principal gifts required and moves management systems
• Experience managing gift officers preferred
• Higher Education experience preferred
