Program Director/Professor of Practice
The University of Florida, College of Design Construction and Planning, School of Architecture is seeking a visionary leader to serve as Program Director and Professor of Practice for our new Master of Science Concentration and Graduate Certificate in Themed Environments Integration at CityLab-Orlando, the College’s off-campus facility in Orlando, Florida. The Program Director of The Master of Science in Architectural Studies (MSAS) concentration and graduate certificate in Themed Environments Integration is expected to provide aspirational leadership including significant attention to faculty and student recruitment and outreach. The Program Director’s duties include: teaching, student and faculty recruitment, enrollment management, advancement and management of program curriculum including the internship program, management of non-disclosure agreements, and program administration including budget management. The Program Director will conduct industry and community outreach and assist with School and College fundraising. This is a 12-month non-tenured faculty appointment, located in Orlando, Florida. The position responsibilities are 50% program administration and outreach, and 50% teaching.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and education.
Qualifications
Applicants must be a leader and demonstrate a record of excellence in the Themed Environments (TE) Industry. Candidates must have significant design and implementation experience, and have extensive experience leading and participating in collaborative working teams. A minimum of 15 years of experience in leadership positions in the TE industry is required. At a minimum, candidates are required to hold a professional master’s degree in a design discipline. It is anticipated that the appointment will be at the rank of Professor of Practice without tenure. Candidates for this position must have a commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.
