Lecturer in Education – Placements and P
The Department of Education at North Central College seeks applicants for the position of Lecturer in Education with primary responsibility for coordination of the clinical aspects of the Department’s elementary, secondary, and K12 licensure programs.

The position is full‐time, 12‐months, benefits eligible. It is not a position that affects nor is affected by standing in the Illinois Teachers Retirement System. The position begins on July 15, 2019.

The position carries a load requirement of 24 credit hours annually assigned at the discretion of the Chair of the Department of Education in consultation with the Dean of the School of Education and Health Sciences.

The successful candidate must demonstrate significant personal initiative, especially in initiating and developing relationships with local school administrators and teachers. A high level of comfort with data and data collection systems is necessary as the successful candidate will provide data used internally and for state and federal reporting.

This person must have the ability to work on several projects concurrently, as well as communicate effectively with students, education professionals, community members, and faculty. The position reports to the Chair of the Department of Education.

In 2018‐19, approximately 175 student teaching and field experience placements were coordinated through the Department of Education. North Central College transitions to a semester‐based calendar with the start of the 2019‐2020 academic year.
