English Faculty (Fall 2019)
Ottawa University seeks candidates for a full-time, 12-month English faculty position in the School of Arts and Sciences. Faculty rank will be based on teaching experience and academic credentials.

The faculty member will teach in our English and liberal arts curricula and oversee the Writing Center. Primary responsibilities include teaching, academic program guidance, and developing/running a Writing Center. The faculty member must display enthusiasm for and commitment to teaching writing from an interdisciplinary perspective, as well as interest in working with students from diverse backgrounds: students of traditional age, adult learners, first-generation students, and student-athletes.

Required Qualifications:

A Master’s of Arts in English or Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with college teaching experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in rhetoric/composition is highly preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of and experience with higher education assessment, student advising, and program development. Work experience in a tutoring center is desirable.
