Job Purpose
Towson University is accepting applications for a Coordinator for Operations & Programs to provide operational and administrative support for events, projects, and initiatives within the Office of the Provost and Division of Academic Affairs. Responsible for supporting events and programs that directly impact faculty relations, faculty development, and Academic Affairs initiatives. Includes assessment of outcomes and making recommendations for future events in alignment with divisional goals and priorities. Events include but are not limited to Commencement, Convocation, January Teaching Conference, TU4U, Retired Faculty Brunch, and the Promotion, Tenure, Reappointment, and Merit (PTRM) Workshop. Shared governance bodies and other committees supported by this position include Academic Senate, TU American Association of University Professors (AAUP)/Faculty Association, Towson University Retired Faculty Association (TURFA), Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry, and the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum.

Description
Completes delegated operational and internal-facing functions relating to Commencement planning, logistics and execution of ceremonies. Serves on the CORE Commencement Committee, provides primary support to the following areas: commencement volunteer program, appeals, logistics/preparation of material and supply transport, invoice management, parking pass distribution, and coordination with third party vendors for photography, musician contracts, accessibility, accommodations, and special circumstances. Schedules meetings for CORE Committee, manages the commencement email account, and updates and maintains commencement planning manual and task timeline.

Supports Chair of Academic Senate and President of TU AAUP/Faculty Association. Coordinates Senate and Senate Executive Committee meetings in conjunction with Senate leadership. Manages all Senate webpages and SharePoint site. Manages communication between the Senate and the Office of the Provost/other departments. Edits and distributes monthly meeting agenda and collects supporting materials. Maintains and post the rosters of the Academic Senate and its committees, assist and conducting campus-wide elections for Academic Senate and AAUP. Provides specialized guidance for the success of TURFA. In conjunction with the TURFA Executive Board, plans events, assists with correspondence, communication, website, membership processes, and budget. Serves as a liaison between TURFA and other university entities.

Supports Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry Committee. Tracks and processes undergraduate research applications and grant and award distribution. Executes event plans for programming to include the Student Research & Creative Inquiry Forum. Supports Office of the Provost Diversity and Inclusion as well as other initiatives and events. Facilitates problem-solving, oversees technical and administrative tasks, develops work plans, timelines, and budgets for events; and executes event tasks such as event themes, locations, catering, agendas, and other tasks such as generating meeting agendas and notes; and distributes event materials in a timely and efficient fashion. Coordinates scholarship activities of the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum. Manages undergraduate student application process including marketing to eligible students and to appropriate faculty/staff, collects scholarship submissions, serves on scholarship selection committee, sends thank you notes and provides other needed support.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Two years experience in event planning.
• Outstanding presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
• Expertise with large event and planning principles and best practices.
• Ability to act with the highest level of professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Excellent time management.
• Record of developing and maintaining strong and productive relationships with key constituents and audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage high volume of work and multiple priorities.
• History of working independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and other technologies such as Office 365 and Google.

Preferred
• Knowledge of Salesforce, HTML code, and web-based applications.
