Lecturer
The Design School at Arizona State University invites applications for full-time, benefits eligible position as a Lecturer in Visual Communications Design. This will be nine-month, non-tenure track appointment beginning fall 2019. This position is renewable on an annual basis contingent upon availability of resources, satisfactory performance, and the needs of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate must possess:

• A graduate degree in visual communication/graphic design
• Five years-experience teaching visual communication/graphic design studio courses at the university level;
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative practice;
• Commitment to teaching and recruiting a diverse student population.

Desired Qualifications:

Preference will be given to individuals with:

• Minimum of two years professional experience with digital and analog graphic design methods, including a working knowledge of current interactive, computational design/representation technologies and three-dimensional design expertise;
• Demonstrated expertise in new digital/computational graphic communication media and experience with social media platforms;
• Commitment to exploring the current and future role of visual communication design in environmentally and socially responsible design practices ;
• An interest in online teaching and learning.
