Job Purpose
Towson University is currently accepting applications for an External Outreach Coordinator. This position will serve as the external-facing arm of the MAC career community. Cultivating and maintaining relationships with external entities (companies, non-profits and government agencies) and individuals (alumni, parents, etc.) to aid in the career development of students to include mentoring, network expansion, and job/internship obtainment.

Description
External Relationship Cultivation
Develop, cultivate and maintain relationships with external entities (companies, non-profits and government agencies) and individuals (alumni, parents, etc.) to aid in the career development of students to include site visit opportunities, newsletter content, mentoring, network expansion, and job/internship obtainment. Strategically identify employer and mentor prospects that align with the career options and interests of MAC students. Develop and communicate (via visits, phone calls, email, social media, etc.) the value proposition of mentoring and recruiting the college's students for jobs and internships. Work closely with the MAC Career Coach to connect external stakeholders to college-based programs (workshops, panels, job shadowing, site visits, fairs, seminars, networking events, etc.). Work in partnership with the Recruitment Coordinator and Career Center's external relations team to connect employers to on-campus recruitment opportunities (on-campus interviews, Handshake, partnership program, job fairs, etc.). Foster external constituents' introduction to and relevant engagement with CoFAC's faculty and students. Develop a pool of employers, alumni, parents and others to serve as career mentors. Partner with campus stakeholders (Alumni Relations, program Internship Coordinators, University Advancement, Career Center's external relations team, MAC faculty/staff, etc.) to ensure external relationships are strategically developed, coordinated and leveraged.

MAC Connections
Cultivate meaningful connections with the college's faculty (with a focus on internship coordinators), staff, and students. Build and foster a growing presence and awareness of career support in the college. Support the broad range of career-related needs of MAC's stakeholders (students, faculty, staff).

Career Center Connections
Report to Associate Director of External Relations, serve on the Career Center's external relations team, and work closely with the MAC Career Coach to ensure collaboration and coordination. Attend Career Center team and all-staff meetings, on-going professional development, and retreats. Adhere and contribute to Career Center mission, values, and goals. Follow Career Center procedures and protocols, including utilization of Career Center systems (i.e., Handshake, etc.). In conjunction with Career Center's Assessment and Analytics Coordinator, report regularly on employer and mentor engagement. Contribute to first destination outcomes collection efforts. Assist with Career Center's signature programs (i.e., job fairs) and ensure college's interests and needs are reflected in university-wide career programming. Partner with Career Center staff on programs when relevant and contribute to Career Center initiative and service offerings where appropriate. Participate in Student Affairs divisional programming. Other duties as assigned that aid in the obtainment of the Career Center's goals and mission.

Professional Development
Proactively stay current on related professional topics, best practices, and trends to include TU and Career Center offerings, professional associations, independent reading, conference and other professional development programming. Keep up-to-date on trends related to internship/entry-level hiring and local/regional employers and workforce demands in the media, communications and arts industries.

Programs
Collaborate with MAC Career Coach in career-related program development and implementation. Programs shall include workshops, meet-ups, conferences, seminars, presentations, boutique fairs, panels, site visits/road trips, job shadowing, networking events, etc. Market mentoring options to students and oversee mentors' engagement with technology platforms and other student connection points. Coordinate with other relevant college and Career Center staff regarding marketing, logistics, budget, and assessment.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years professional work experience. Experience in developing, cultivating and maintaining relationships with entities (non-profits, companies, government agencies) and individuals. Commitment to high quality service delivery. Proven ability to work collaboratively and to connect people and entities. Ability to work independently and accomplish goals with little supervision. Excellent communication skills. Knowledge of issues related to employment barriers, issues of workplace accommodations, and the needs of a diverse student population. Experience with the application of equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Experience with event/program management.

Preferred:
• A. in a Communications or Arts discipline.
• Experience in sales, development, or recruitment.
• A Master's degree.

A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
