Lead Archival Associate - SWC/SCL Exhibi
Position Description

Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs in accomplishing archival/library work. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May supervise staff or student assistants. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.

Major/Essential Functions

- Builds exhibits from designs, drawings, and plans submitted by the person responsible for curating the exhibit.
- Ensures that exhibits conform to available time, financial resources, spatial resources, and personnel.
- Assists with scheduling exhibits to ensure that exhibits are prepared and displayed shown in a timely fashion.
- Develops specifications for materials needed to prepare exhibits and oversees the procurement of material to ensure resources are available when needed.
- Supervises the maintenance and orderliness of exhibition galleries, workrooms, storage areas, and equipment
- Implements changes in exhibits web pages and ensures the currency of the content.

Required Qualifications

Master's or higher level degree and three years of experience or a combination of related education and/or experience to equal nine years. Ability to learn and work with computer applications unique to libraries or archives. Excellent customer services skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master's degree in Art.
- Knowledge of computer graphic design programs and good computer skills.
- Excellent hand skills and eye to hand coordination in order to perform exacting handwork with care.
- Attention to detail, precision, and patience.
- Excellent organization.
- Good people skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Know and apply the Customer Service philosophy of TTU.
- Support the Total Quality Management philosophy of the SWC/SCL, and comply with Texas Tech's policies, procedures, and work rules.
