Library Associate - Circulation
Position Description :

This paraprofessional position holds responsibilities that may involve supervision of a work unit and/or the undertaking of specialized work requiring a high level of expertise, such as cataloging or processing of manuscript collections. Independent judgment and a comprehensive knowledge of tasks are used to accomplish the mission of the unit. Work is performed under general supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Evaluation is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions :

- Assists in the supervision of operations at the service desks.
- Supervises approximately 50 to 60 student assistants.
- Ensures that all student assistants are following Access Services and Library policies.
- Keeps accurate documentation on all student assistants and related policies.
- Participates in writing and updating training documentation.
- Responsible for student assistant performance over service desks of the Library.
- May open and close building as needed.
- Completes all training and certifications relevant to the position and as required by TTU and Library guidelines.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelors' degree in related field and one year related experience; knowledge and competencies of Microsoft Office. Relevant specialized work experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis. Additional job related education may substitute for required experience on a year for year basis. Ability to learn and work with computer applications unique to libraries or archives.

- Previous library experience.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Software.
