Writing Center Specialist
Required Qualifications and Education:

-Bachelor of Arts/Sciences
-Two years experience in writing centerwork

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

-Experience/expertise in any of the following areas: support of ESL/international student writers, online tutoring, assessment, faculty writing support, writing center theory

Responsibilities - Essential Functions:

-Coordinates training opportunities and professional development for a staff of 70 graduate and undergraduate writing consultants
-Participates in developing programming responsive to the writing needs of students, faculty, and staff across campus.
-Collaborates with director on hiring, training, and professional development of consultants.
-Coordinates publicity of the center’s services and management of its website.
-Implements policies and procedures to maintain efficiency and effectiveness of the center’s services, and to maintain a professional work environment for the consultants.
-Participates in the scheduling process each semester.
-Collects data and collaborates with the WC director on assessment, strategic planning, and budgeting activities.

Responsibilities – Non-essential Functions:

-Design and implement programs/projects based on program needs and candidate skills

Salary: $22,976 plus benefits

Details: Half time (20 hours per week, 9 months per year)

Campus: Allendale and/or downtown
