Associate Director of International Recruitment and Admissions

Job Purpose
Towson University is accepting applications for full-time Associate Director of International Recruitment and Admissions. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for International Initiatives, the Associate Director is directly engaged with the execution of strategies for international recruitment and processing of international undergraduate applications. Through active recruitment efforts focusing on international transfer students from Maryland and other US institutions and students from abroad, he/she is responsible to achieve the goal of growth and diversity of international student populations at the university.

Plays a key role in international recruitment endeavors of Towson University including developing an annual international recruitment plan, prioritizing international student markets, developing and utilizing customized recruitment strategies and conducting the assessment of Return on Investment (ROI) for each recruitment initiative.

The Associate Director supervises and trains a team of graduate and undergraduate student workers for the implementation of social media marketing campaigns, tracking students’ leads, monitoring and responding to emails, and developing messages to be sent via (CRM) Salesforce to all leads and coordinates a plan to communicate with applicants. The Associate Director develops and offers virtual presentations for parents and stakeholders abroad promoting university academic programs and scholarships. Serving as the key liaison to agencies, international counselors, institutions and EducationUSA officers, the associate director develops communication initiatives, tracks inquiries and applications generated through agencies.

In collaboration with the University’s Division of Marketing and Communications, the associate director develops and oversees marketing materials based on the research of key international student markets. The Associate Director serves as the key recruiter for cohorts of students under 2+2 articulation agreements with US community colleges and international partner institutions including offering informational workshops for international high school students and community college students in the Mid-Atlantic region and other identified states and coordinating on-campus visits of international transfer students from high schools and community colleges.

The Associate Director is responsible for all communications with international applicants, conducts the review of international undergraduate application materials, and administers decisions about international scholarships and admissions. The Associate Director works with the International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO), Admissions Office and Graduate Admissions to expedite the international admissions process and collaborates with the English Language Center (ELC) to recruit and transition ELC’s conditionally admitted students to Towson University. Frequently travels to international transfer fairs in targeted community colleges and occasionally participates in international recruitment fairs abroad as assigned by the AVP.

The Associate Director is expected to be actively involved in the field of International Enrollment/Recruitment in the region, nationally, and internationally via participation in professional organizations and conferences.

Master's degree and five years of related experience at an International Recruitment, International Admissions or International Student Services Office at a U.S. higher education institution. The selected candidate must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access and social media; excellent communication skills; sensitivity to handle meetings and communications with people with limited English language skills and from diverse cultures; and must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications: Five years of professional experience within an office of International Recruitment and Admissions at a U.S. college or university, knowledge of international higher education systems, and experience in developing social media campaigns for international transfer students from U.S. institutions and students from abroad for the English Language Center or for a U.S. college or university. Experience in recruitment of graduate students from abroad. Foreign Language Skills.

Salary and Benefits
