Job Purpose
The College of Health Professions at Towson University is accepting applications for the Director of the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism. This position will direct all operations of the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism by providing oversight for student education, staff supervision, program development and evaluation, financial management of programs, and engage in relevant external relations.

This position directs all operations of the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism at the Institute for Well-Being. The position involves administering and overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of programs at the Center. Assures that programs benefit the community, are evidence-based, and provide active learning experiences for Towson University students who are completing fieldwork, internship or peer mentoring within the programs.

The Center Director has a reporting relationship to (1) the Occupational Therapy and Occupational Sciences Department Chair relative to programmatic offerings and practices, adherence to program philosophy and research evidence that align the Center strategic plan with that of the department of Occupational Therapy and Occupational Science, and (2) the Institute for Well-Being (IWB) Director, relative to financial, marketing and interdisciplinary management of programs and their administrative operations. The Director also works collaboratively with faculty in the Disability Studies Minor and others to coordinate student mentoring experiences for autism-focused classes.

The Director ensures that programs maintain best practice standards by leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of operational policies and procedures in the Hussman Center. Ensure that program documentation for participants, and Towson University students is completed accurately and on file in accordance with (IWB), department and University policies. Identify and support quality improvements for programs on a regular basis. Manage all faculty and staff within the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism. Oversee hiring, orientation, training, performance evaluation, and all other areas of support. In collaboration with university, Center, and department administrative staff, ensure that faculty, staff, and students comply with policies regarding licensure, credentialing, professional standards, background checks, and liability. Communicate and coordinate personnel decisions with relevant department and IWB administrators. Ensure that programs are self-sustaining and supported by sound fiscal policies and practices. Effectively develop and manage budgets. Support faculty research initiatives that align with the mission of the Center. Direct programs within the Hussman Center as needed, educate and supervise students within those programs, and/or teach up to one academic class per semester that aligns with the Hussman Center mission. Ensure that the Hussman Center for Adults with Autism operates from a foundation of presumed competence for all individuals, participation in occupations in context across the life span, and meets community needs. Ensure that programs operate from a foundation in evidence-based practices. Support external relations with campus and community stakeholders through key outreach activities in collaboration with other IWB and campus units.

Required: Master's or Doctoral Degree in therapeutic, counseling, or related field. Minimum 5 years of clinical or related work experience. Knowledge of and extensive experience providing services for adults with autism and other disabilities. Experience with program development and implementation including cost analysis and staff supervision. Strong commitment to interprofessional perspectives in programming. Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.

Preferred: Prior experience in program administration, student education, and supervising students. National Board Certified Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Certification and active or eligible for State Licensure in Occupational Therapy.
