Job Purpose
The College of Education is seeking a Partnerships and Placements Coordinator to coordinate partnerships and placements for all teacher certification programs. The Coordinator will work closely with faculty, school partners, and Professional Development School representatives to ensure high quality field and internship experiences for our candidates. The Coordinator will work with partner districts to monitor, revise, and renew partnership memoranda of understandings as needed.

Description
Coordinate the placements of teacher candidates in pre-professional and professional teaching experiences in PreK-12 schools. Oversee and assist the field placement coordinator in making placements. Develop and provide initial orientation and training for new TU supervisors/liaisons/coordinators. Establish and maintain positive working relationships with public school directors of Professional Development Schools (PDS) and related professional organizations. Co-chair the Towson College of Education PDS Council with a public school representative and give the school representative extensive input into meeting agendas and delivery of the content of each meeting; serve on the Maryland State Department of Education Conference Planning Committee; and serve on the Cross-Campus Internship Coordinating Committee. Develop written protocols for placement processes in school districts. Maintain and update memoranda of understandings with partner districts. Facilitate development of new partnerships as indicated by College needs. Receive, screen, and efficiently respond to all calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries from students, department chairs, faculty, staff, and public school personnel while maintaining strict confidentiality. Assist departments in addressing issues that arise in a field experience or internship. Work with the College of Education webmaster to maintain a website with up-to-date information about Local Education Agency (LEA) placement protocols, information about fingerprinting and criminal background check requirements, and other pertinent information related to successful completion of field experiences/internships.

Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Three years of work experience in a public school setting
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Proficient with Technology
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with placing candidates in field experiences

A criminal background investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
