Associate Director for Student Center Facilities and Operations

Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of the Holmes Student Center, this position provides vision and leadership for the effective delivery of facilities management and operations of the Holmes Student Center. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Holmes Student Center, including ensuring fiscal responsibility, security, building access and key control, facility maintenance and improvement, equipment management, safety, and enforcement of building policies and procedures. This position supervises the areas and managers of the Business Office, Hotel at Holmes, Huskie Den, and Operation Services in the Holmes Student Center. The position coordinates with Building Services and Facilities Management to ensure a clean, secure and well-maintained facility.

Duties and Responsibilities
• In collaboration with the HSC Leadership Team, create a brand, common goals and learning outcomes.
• Assume fiscal responsibility for the overall business administration for the Holmes Student Center, including budget management and financial reporting for student fee funded auxiliary enterprise, oversight of development of efficient policies and procedures, coordination with university departments and student organizations.
• Facilitate annual capital project, equipment, software, and budget requests for entire building and reporting departments. Prepare and monitor all budgetary concerns; working closely with the HSC Business office to procure equipment and supplies and to maintain fiscally responsible budgets.
• Actively work to monitor, maintain, and improve physical condition of the facility. Coordinate with Facilities Management and Campus Services on maintenance, repairs and improvement projects, including all campus trades, furniture repair, materials management and transportation services for the facility. Act as facility liaison in evaluating, planning and executing major construction and renovation projects.
• Oversee the 77 room Hotel at Holmes which is a 24-hour seven day a week operation. Oversee successful partnership with university hospitality program. Provide guidance on advertising and marketing strategy to increase revenue. Provide oversight on long-term hotel facility improvement projects.
• Oversee Huskie Bowling and Billiards Center. Ensure a high level of quality service and risk management. Coordinate with University KNPE program to sustain and grow bowling and billiard courses. Assess bowling center equipment to determine need for preventative maintenance, repair, and replacement. Develop rotational equipment replacement plan. Purchase and coordinate delivery of approved items.
• Manage Operations Services to ensure facility safety, maintenance, and emergency response. Ensure appropriate staffing of facility for all day and evening operations between the hours of 7am and 12am. Maintain a collaborative relationship with Police and Public Safety and have plans and procedures in place for all emergencies and situations. Provide leadership and oversight of event staffing for safe and successful entry, exit, crowd control, and overall operation of large-scale events. Oversee space and tenant management for facility.
• Liaison with University Building Services maintaining a positive working relationship to ensure clean and safe public, office, meeting and event spaces. Through partnered staff, ensure successful execution of setup of all meeting, event and hotel spaces.
• Assist with the review, development and implementation of Holmes Student Center policies and procedures. Assist with annual assessment priorities. Participates on department, division and university committees as assigned. Serve on state, regional or national level professional organizations.
• Act in the place of the Holmes Student Center Executive Director as needed. Serve on facility emergency 24 hour on call rotation

Minimum Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management or a field related to the position
• Two years of professional level accounting, managerial and/or business experience, one year of which was at an administrative level.
• One year of professional work experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Demonstrated work experience in one of the following functional areas: operations management, hospitality management, facilities, budget and financial processes, human resources and business operations.
