The Simons Foundation is seeking a Scientist to assist with the coordination, implementation and monitoring of the Simons Collaboration on the Global Brain (SCGB) and the Simons Collaboration on Plasticity and the Aging Brain (SCPAB) programs, and will to report to the Senior Scientist, Neuroscience.


• Assist in the monitoring of the scientific content and administration of the SCGB grant portfolio. This includes, but is not limited to, evaluating progress through virtual site visits and progress reports.
• Assist in the management of the SCGB Postdoctoral Programing. This includes, but is not limited to, managing, organizing, attending and evaluating the Regional SCGB Postdoc Meeting Series, now in three locations (NY, Boston and West Coast).
• Assist in the organization of workshops and other meetings, including the SCGB Annual Meeting and SCPAB workshops.
• Give feedback on content for the SCGB and SCPAB websites
• Assist in coordinating a request for proposals and review for SCPAB
• Assist in launching a new round of awards for SCPAB
• Interact with other programs, scientists and administrative staff at the Simons Foundation.
• Stay abreast of the fields of research, including attending relevant meetings, conferences and workshops (travel required).



• Ph.D. (completed or expected) in neuroscience or related field (preference for computational/theoretical/systems focus)


• A broad knowledge of the relevant scientific landscape and background knowledge in systems neuroscience and/or computational neuroscience is desired.
• Ability to plan and manage complex, long-term projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to clearly communicate science to varied audiences
• Proactive, collaborative, agreeable and empathic personality
