Job Summary

The School of Education at Lindenwood University invites applications for an assistant professor of counseling.

Qualified applicants will possess a terminal degree in counselor education from a CACREP accredited institution (preferred). The successful candidate will be expected to teach 4 courses (3 credit hours) each semester on counseling and 2 courses (3 credit hours) during the summer semester. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching online. All Lindenwood faculty members are expected to advise and mentor students, continue to develop their expertise through research and scholarship, and participate in faculty governance and campus life.

The assistant professor of counseling is a full-time, 12-month faculty position that will begin August 2020. Review of applications will begin March 15, 2020 and will continue until the position is filled.

The successful candidate will be required to teach at the graduate level in addition to advising and mentoring of counseling students. Development of program curriculum, procedures, and policies will be expected, along with support of non-core faculty to ensure adherence to standards established by the program, the School of Education, DESE, CAEP, and CACREP. Collaborative engagement with the community, including mental health agencies and K-12 school districts, will be necessary, with limited travel within Missouri and the use of distance learning technology required.
