Mathematics Teaching Faculty (Fall 2020)
Ottawa University (est. 1865), one of the oldest private liberal arts universities in the United States, seeks candidates and/or nominations for a full-time Mathematics Faculty Position with assignment in the University’s School of Arts and Sciences. This position located on the residential campus in Ottawa, KS, will be assigned the appropriate faculty rank and status based on teaching experience and academic credentials. The successful candidate will be part of the Mathematics Department and will focus on Ottawa University’s upper division mathematics courses leading to a Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics with an optional concentration in actuarial studies. Mathematics also provide support for the physics courses and the Biology and Engineering programs as well as service course in the Liberal Arts breadth area. This is a traditional faculty position governed by the expectation outlined in the Faculty Handbook.

This full-time, tenure-track, 9-month faculty position, a Ph. D. in Mathematics or related field preferred. Candidate must display an enthusiasm for teaching a math curriculum from a liberal arts perspective, an interest in working with undergraduate-level (traditional and adult) learners in both the classroom (primary) and online (secondary) settings. Preference will be given for prior teaching experience and a demonstration of the ability to mentor undergraduate research projects.
