Director of HR/Compliance/Title IX
Bethel College, North Newton, KS is currently accepting applications for a Director of Human Resources & Compliance/Title IX Coordinator. The Director plans, develops, directs, and provides oversight to programming within HR/Compliance/Title IX administration. The Director provides recommendations for improvement of the College’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters, compliance, and Title IX. The Director meets all new employees, provides a welcoming orientation, and should be prepared to represent the college in hiring efforts.

Essential Functions:
Human Resources/Compliance
• Plan, develop, and direct the implementation of new programs in HR administration.
• Exercise functional supervision of adopted HR policies.
• Post staff openings on the website.
• Complete all new hire paperwork for the Business Office.
• Hold an orientation for all new hires.
• Annually review and make recommendations for improvement of the college’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure organization compliance.
• Responsible for college compliance with federal, state and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
• Communicate changes in the organization’s personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
• Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
• Work directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters.
• Recommend, evaluate, and participate in staff development for the college.
• Operate as a liaison between administration and staff by participating on the staff welfare committee.
• Convene regular meetings of the Compliance Committee.
• Coordinate training programs necessary to achieve compliant conduct.
• Report regularly to the President, vice presidents and trustees as to the current state of campus compliance efforts and of the implementation of the Board’s Compliance and Ethics Program.
Title IX
• Coordinate and lead the Title IX Committee, this includes appointing roles and determining appropriate training for those serving in each role.
• Communicate with the campus about relevant policies and procedures, and keeping those policies and procedures up-to-date.
• Develop and maintain print materials, website, and resources guide as it pertains to Title IX.
• Oversee the complaint and resolution process, which includes investigations, findings, and sanctions.
• Ensure the complaint and resolution process is done in a timely, effective, and appropriate manner
• Interface with other areas on campus for education, training and support, if and when appropriate
• And ensure Bethel’s compliance with rules and regulations, including creating and maintaining records.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and experience in both HR and Title IX required. A master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
