Assistant Professor of Biology
Springfield College invites applications for a full time, nine month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology position in the Department of Biology/Chemistry. The College seeks a broadly trained biologist with expertise at the molecular level. An active research agenda (or promise of) in cellular or molecular biology that involves undergraduate training and is suitable for dissemination beyond the college is required. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester, comprised of advanced courses in cellular/molecular biology and biochemistry, as well introductory level biology and anatomy/physiology courses. Additional faculty responsibilities include student advising/mentoring and service to and beyond the college. Preference is given to candidates who are excellent and innovative teachers prepared to engage undergraduate students in research.  Applicants should submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, teaching, research, and diversity statements, and the names and contact information for 3-5 professional references.

Candidates must possess a doctorate in cellular or molecular biology, or biochemistry from a regionally accredited institution and evidence of strong teaching skills at the college level. ABD's with a summer degree completion date will be considered.
