Assistant Professor of Biology
Springfield College invites applications for a full time, nine month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Biology position in the Department of Biology/Chemistry. The College seeks a broadly trained microbiologist who can teach upper division courses in microbiology and/or biochemistry, as well as introductory level biology and/or anatomy/physiology (4 courses per semester). An active research agenda (or promise of) in the field of microbiology that involves undergraduate training and is suitable for dissemination beyond the college is required. Additional faculty responsibilities include student advising/mentoring and service to and beyond the college. Preference is given to candidates who are excellent and innovative teachers and who will engage undergraduate students in research. Candidates must possess a doctorate in biology, microbiology, or biochemistry from a regionally accredited institution and evidence of strong teaching skills at the college level. ABD's with a summer degree completion date will be considered.
