Curriculum and Instructional Specialist
The University of Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center (CWRC) is seeking a Curriculum and Instructional Specialist. The Curriculum and Instructional Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and revising child welfare curriculum to be delivered to child welfare professionals across the state of Pennsylvania in a variety of formats, including instructor-led, online/E-Learning, and blended learning. The Curriculum and Instructional Specialist functions as a team member for the Curriculum and Trainer Development Department of the Resource Center. The Curriculum and Trainer Development Department at the Resource Center follows the ADDIE process of curriculum development.
 
The Curriculum and Instructional Specialist teams with other Resource Center staff, stakeholders, subject matter experts and child welfare professionals to design and develop curriculum to meet the needs of the child welfare workforce in Pennsylvania. The ADDIE process followed by the Resource Center’s Curriculum team involves constant collaboration, facilitation skills, analytical and critical thinking skills, problem-solving, and attention to detail. Flexibility to adapt to changing needs of the child welfare workforce and the ability to plan and meet This position is remotely located. A valid driver’s license and travel to the Mechanicsburg, PA office and throughout Pennsylvania is required. The Curriculum and Instructional Specialist must be able to travel long distances on a regular basis. Some travel may be required with 24-hour notice. deadlines are essential functions of the Curriculum and Instructional Specialist. A minimum one to three years’ experience in curriculum/instructional design and development for instructor-led curriculum, online curriculum and/or blended learning environments is required. Knowledge of child welfare practice, experience collaborating with subject matter experts, and training delivery/group facilitation experience are preferred. Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience or a Master’s degree is required. This position is remotely located. A valid driver’s license and travel to the Mechanicsburg, PA office and throughout Pennsylvania is required.
 
The Curriculum and Instructional Specialist must be able to travel long distances on a regular basis. Some travel may be required with 24-hour notice. Candidates must also be able to lift up to 30 pounds; set up and prepare audiovisual equipment for meetings and presentations; and stand for up to 6 hours. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
