Assistant Professor of Biology
The Biology department at Oxford College of Emory University has an opening for a tenure-track position, beginning August 2021. This is a teaching-focused position and would be ideal for someone interested in working with undergraduate students in a liberal arts setting. One of Emory University's four schools partnering in undergraduate education, Oxford College provides 975 first- and second-year students of high academic profile an intensive liberal-arts program for the first two years of their Emory bachelor's degree. Our students experience the advantages of being on a small campus for their first two years and the benefits of being at a research university in their final two years of their undergraduate program. Our department is a close community of highly engaged faculty committed to engaging our students in transformative education at an early stage. A Ph.D. in biology or a sub-discipline, completed by May 2021 is required. Candidates with experience in inquiry-based teaching and student-centered learning are particularly encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in, but not limited to, applicants with a focus on organismal biology (animal or plant models) and experience or some training in molecular biology. Additional details of the position, including qualifications, and application submission instructions are available here: Application review will begin on October 15th, 2020.
