Curriculum Specialist
This position serves the Office of Medical Education (OMED) in a staff capacity by providing direct service, materials and resources for instruction of medical school students. The incumbent will interact with course directors and faculty contributors to provide instructional support needs in lecture halls, small group rooms, laboratory and other teaching locations. Demands of the position necessitate flexibility regarding work hours (e.g. early morning hours or evening hours) and will be dictated as required by the needs of each course. The Curriculum Specialist is expected to work collaboratively with other OMED staff, and with autonomy and discretion within the scope of the position. The incumbent also assists in the day-to-day operations of the office.
Bachelors degree preferred in education, technology or science discipline. Years of experience in a similar field may be substituted for the degree. Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, respectively). Must be able to understand and learn new software packages as required to meet the needs of the Office of Medical Education. The incumbent will be helping to prepare course materials in English. Excellent skills in written English are required to create error-free and grammatically correct written materials with highly technical biomedical content. Excellent skills in spoken English are required to communicate effectively with some faculty members.
