The Department of Teacher Education and Administration (TE&A) in the College of Education at The University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Educational Leadership beginning Fall 2021 semester. Of particular interest to the College of Education are candidates who are committed to improving people’s lives through powerful learning, social-emotional wellness, physical health, civic engagement, and anti-racist education.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach doctoral and masters courses (offered at the UNT campus and other off-site locations and online); advise graduate students and supervise students in internships as needed; serve on and chair doctoral committees; maintain an active research agenda; seek grant funding; and provide service to the Department, College, University, community constituencies, and professional organizations. Summer teaching is contingent on student demand and funding.

Minimum Qualifications:
(1) Earned doctorate with emphasis in Educational Leadership (or a related field), ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date; (2) Research, teaching, and/or leadership experience with culturally and/or linguistically diverse populations; and (3) Evidence of a research agenda.

Preferred Qualifications:
(1) Experience in EC-12 education and/or educational systems that serve Communities of Color similar to those found in Texas; (2) Research agenda focused on topics of contemporary urgency, especially anti-racist education and leader preparation; (3) Research agenda that focuses on and with Communities of Color like those found in Texas; (4) Teaching experience in higher education; (4) Evidence of publications associated with stated research agenda; (5) Evidence of participation in externally funded activities.
