Southbridge Site Leader
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The QCC Southbridge Center Leader is responsible for fostering a student centered and supported environment, partner on academic and student support programming and continue to forge relations with internal and external community partners.
The Site Leader is responsible for key outcomes related to strategic leadership of the QCC Southbridge location. This includes ensuring a quality educational environment with focus on 100% student success that results in expanded student outreach, recruitment, persistence and success. The Site Leader will work with campus colleagues to improve and expand regional partnerships and regional presence. The preferred candidate will have a strong, student-focused background within Academic Affairs and student support programming, an entrepreneurial spirit, and demonstrated experience with innovation in academic and/or workforce development programming. This position requires a dynamic, energetic leader who is results driven and collaborative.

Associate Vice President for Strategic Academic & Workforce Initiatives.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Part-time administrative support or part-time evening administrators as assigned.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Academic Leadership

o Ensures a student-focused environment through engagement with new and continuing students at all points of their academic experience at QCC Southbridge, to provide support, remove obstacles, establish goals and identify / secure resources that enable all students to achieve their academic goals;
o Provides data and suggestions to the Academic Deans on academic scheduling and programming
o Enhances, coordinates and implements student centered academic and support services to promote student success and completion. Coordinates with campus services and supports to schedule regular support services on-site and remotely. Coordinates with Follett Bookstore to insure timely delivery of books and materials;
o Conducts orientation with students and faculty at the Southbridge location. This may include family outreach and support such as a Spanish language orientation for families;
o Leads the development of a technology on-ramp for students that may include but not be limited to assisting students in securing necessary academic technology; utilization of BlackBoard or other LMS as appropriate; accessing remote services, etc.;
o Ensures QCC Southbridge delivers superior customer service to fellow team members, students and external partners and collaborators. Provides support for faculty and staff as needed. Conducts focus groups with students and relays feedback to Academic Affairs Leadership Team to improve program and student services.



Marketing Outreach, Recruitment
o Works closely with Institutional Communications and Enrollment Management Team to develop marketing plans and collaborate on outreach and recruitment activities such as new student recruitment, functions associated with the enrollment of continuing students, and student orientation;
o Assists in the development of an annual student enrollment and operations budget;
o Facilitates communication among faculty, staff and campus departments on behalf of QCC Southbridge;

Regional Collaboration
o Enhances and expands QCC’s community presence and partnerships. Liaises with the South County community to encourage community partnerships, widen market reach, and increase student enrollment
o In close collaboration with Academic Affairs, Enrollment & Student Affairs and External Affairs, develops and maintains effective internal and external relationships across the region, including positive relationships with students, alumni, faculty, staff, the educational community, local business leaders and community-based organizations, e.g. Chamber of Commerce, the Latino Education Institute, MassHire, Southbridge Business Partnership, etc;
o Strengthens relationship with key business partners to support training programs and services esp. those offered by Center for Workforce Development & Continuing Education.

Site Oversight & Coordination
o Sets an appropriate and professional atmosphere, tone, and culture for the location;
o Serves as QCC’s primary site liaison with the Southbridge Middle-High School;
o Works closely with the Academic Affairs Leadership Team to review campus metrics and manage programmatic logistics on-site;
o Supervises and schedules part-time evening administrators;
o Maintains a desirable, attractive and safe environment. Communicates regularly with Southbridge Middle-High School personnel to ensures facilities are well maintained;
o Coordinates with the Director of Engineering, Energy, Environment, & Extension Campus Facilities on facility concerns;
o Provides input to Academic Affairs leadership regarding specification of lease requirements and utilization of resources;
o Assesses resource needs and ensures that the appropriate resources are planned for, acquired and properly acquired;
o Continuously implements and monitors processes and policies to assess QCC Southbridge operations and functional areas in delivering excellent customer service on an efficient and timely basis.

Other Duties as Assigned
o Participates in/leads campus-wide planning, assessment and accreditation activities as required;
o Adjusts/modifies schedule as needed to meet position responsibilities effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
o Bachelor’s Degree required.
o 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience within Academic Affairs;
o Demonstrated experience with effective customer service, particularly within a multicultural/multilingual environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o Masters’ degree in higher education leadership, or related field
o Fluency in more than one language, Spanish preferred.
o Strong project management skill
o Demonstrated ability to lead and communicate effectively.
o Demonstrated experience effectively presenting information to faculty, academic and campus leaders, corporate leaders, and public groups as applicable.
o Ability to travel across the region and among multiple campus locations to participate in conferences and meetings as needed.
o Strong computer skills (MS Office); experience with computerized administrative systems.

SALARY/HOURS:
Hiring salary $70,000-$80,000. This is a full-time, non-unit professional position offering a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. Benefits apply. General working hours are between 8:00 am-5:00 pm, and will include evening and weekend hours at certain times during the year.
