Job Description:

The School of Nursing at Stony Brook University invites/seeks applications for one full-time clinical faculty position to teach in the Undergraduate program. Adult Gerontological experience is preferred to enhance curricular concepts across four spheres of care (prevention/promotion of health and well-being, chronic illness care, critical/trauma care and hospice/palliative care). As a Clinical Instructor, you are expected to contribute to the educational, research, clinical and community service mission of the School of Nursing.

The school of nursing clinical faculty are leaders in the implementation of student-centered teaching and learning strategies for the development of strong clinical reasoning skills in nurse graduates. Applicants must demonstrate teaching excellence to contribute to the school's already outstanding NCLEX-RN pass rates, most recently 98.1% in 2020.

All candidates should be prepared to mentor students as future nurse leaders, be committed to fostering diversity and inclusion, and foster collaborative interdisciplinary learning experiences that expand student understanding of patient-centered care.

Rank and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Required Qualifications:

• Doctoral Degree (Earned or In Progress).

• 2 Years Experience as a Clinical Educator in either a hospital or academic setting.

• Valid NY State Professional Nurse License.

• Recent Adult or Gerontological Acute Care Experience.
