Assistant Professor of Art
The University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Art position within the Division of Culture, Arts and Communication (CAC), housed in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (SIAS). This is a full-time tenure track position with a 9-month service period to begin September 16 2022. Tenure track faculty are expected to teach six classes per year, including both lower-level introductory courses and upper-level courses.

Our campus is known for its pioneering innovative arts curriculum and this position will work with non-majors to develop their creative voices and mentor students to become resilient cultural workers in our rapidly changing world. They will teach socially engaged, interdisciplinary art that includes theme-based studio classes such as Labor, Globalization and Art, Art in a Time of War, disability activism, and other topical, conceptually based studio art courses. They may also teach lecture courses such as Issues in the Arts, and Contemporary Arts and Society and/or courses in performance art.
