Senior Assistant Director for Marketing
In partnership with Fleishman staff, the Senior Assistant Director, Marketing & Technology Innovation will lead and manage creative projects to educate students on programs, events, and career education topics. In addition, this position will provide website oversight, lead website development efforts, and be responsible for information technology support for the Center's suite of technology. The Senior Assistant Director, Marketing & Technology Innovation will also provide end user technical support and training for students and staff, and oversee the overall information technology needs of the Fleishman Center.

Responsibilities include:

-Oversee all marketing functions for the Fleishman Center, including the development and implementation of an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to promote services and signature programs and events
-Identify key messages, strategies and tactics for effective communication with students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, and other external constituents utilizing various digital platforms (i.e. email, social media, video) and print collateral
-Manage the creative design process to develop a brand identity, and ensure message and brand consistency
-Oversee the Center's social media presence including working with students and staff to develop new means of engaging Binghamton students through Instagram, TikTok and other social media platforms
-Update Fleishman Center's marketing and collateral as needed, including Career Guides
-Work with on and off-campus vendors to order marketing and print materials as well as promotional items as needed
-Utilize email marketing platform to send targeted and mass email to students promoting programs and events
-Supervise marketing student staff members (including writers, social media managers, graphic designer, photographer, etc)
-Maintain the Fleishman Center's websites which serve as a dynamic resource for students, employers, families and prospective students
-Monitor, report, and analyze web site analytics and provide keyword guidance and coordination of search engine optimization (SEO) activities
-Manage day-to-day oversight, coordination, and use of all Fleishman Center technology
-Provide end user technical support and training for students and staff and oversee the overall IT management needs of the department (such as video conferencing workstations, touchscreens, PC/lMac laptops and related peripherals, etc.)
-Provide recommendations regarding the technical equipment and infrastructure needed to support strategic initiatives of the office
-Act as primary liaison between Fleishman Center partners with regard to the implementation of technology

-Bachelor's degree in an appropriate and related discipline and a minimum of 3 years' professional experience serving in a marketing capacity
-Oversee the marketing function for the Fleishman Center, including the development and implementation of an integrated strategic marketing and communications plan to enhance career center visibility and in support of the Center's strategic plan and institutional goals
-Understanding of Content Management Systems, HTML, and the principles of effective web design
-Graphic design experience (print and digital) and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
-Experience in tracking user engagement, website traffic analytics (Google Analytics), viewer behavior and making recommendations based on data analysis
-Ability to make smart, user focused decisions about information technology and architecture
-Ability and willingness to manage and troubleshoot equipment and technology
Excellent attention to detail, and ability to oversee and work on multiple projects
-Ability to work independently and as a team member to creatively solve problems
-Strong communication and presentation skills, with an ability to express complex ideas in simple language
-Self-starting, creative professional with the ability to create and manage multiple projects simultaneously
-Sensitivity and ability to understand diverse student needs, concerns, and maintain confidentiality
-Must share core values of campus collaboration, high ethical standards and dedication to what is best for students, employers and Binghamton University


-Master's degree in an appropriate and related discipline
-Minimum of 5 years related work experience serving in a technology capacity
-Ability to plan, record and edit basic promotional videos using software
-Experience in a higher education environment
-A passion for new technology and digital communication tools and methods, and desire to continually learn the latest platforms and solutions
-Motivated to analyze user behavior and excited to uncover opportunities for improvement
-Knowledge of mobile marketing trends and SEO
-Experience creating digital graphics, videos and other pieces which help tell a compelling story
-Knowledge of emerging trends in higher education, and supporting student career success
