VABHS is home to one of the VA Million Veteran Program’s (MVP) national Coordinating Centers. MVP is a national voluntary research program that aims to better understand how genetic, lifestyle, and environmental factors influence Veteran health.

The National Program Coordinator (NPC) will provide a comprehensive support system for MVP recruitment/enrollment sites across the country that includes protocol training, recruitment and data reviews, site visits, and regular communication (via phone, email).

S/he will ensure the quality of site activities by assessing administrative and enrollment practices, support, and needs. S/he will provide insight into improvements needed into MVP recruitment and enrollment procedures and participate in the local site performance review process as well as conduct visits to MVP local sites and assist with MVP national outreach events, such as VA conventions.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee and conduct site visits
• Develop site visit procedures/model with input and approval from the Boston MVP CC
• Oversee the work product of the Regional Study Coordinators
• Review all site visit reports
• Monitor RSC communication with sites to ensure consistent and clear training/messaging to site staff.
• Be primary and/or secondary Point of Contact for sites
• Conduct regular phone and email communication with sites at all times that is positive, re-enforces protocol and best practices and any issues addressed at a site visit, and is clearly documented in the site communication log (updated on a daily basis).
• Emphasis on cultivating strong relationships with the Local Site Investigators.
• Create/update, conduct, and record new and existing trainings for MVP staff (i.e., Informed Consent training, Mock Enrollment, Study Procedures, SharePoint, MVP Reports, MVP systems, etc.)
• Assist with revisions to the MVP Operations Manual
• Provide user experience testing for development in MVP systems and online platforms
• Monitor site performance and assist the Boston MVP CC with site review process
• Oversee the Field Advisory Committee and recommend new members to the Boston MVP CC as needed
• Attend N/RSC weekly meetings with the Boston MVP CC
• Develop and provide training on recruitment and enrollment initiatives to boost site enrollment and offer one-on-one site support (e.g. March to the Million)
• Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project success

Qualifications
• MUST be a US Citizen and MUST clear a US government background check
• Master’s in public health domain, statistics, biostatistics or epidemiology and ≥ 3 years of research project management work experience or a bachelor’s in public health domain, statistics, biostatistics or epidemiology and ≥ 5 years of work in research project management experience.
• Knowledge of and/or experience with Information Science and Technology a plus.
• Excellent team player - thrives in team-based work
• The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of scientific, and technical principles, theories, and concepts and in-depth cross-functional experienced-based knowledge
• Have an excellent understanding of research and research infrastructure
• Proven understanding of the following subjects: User research activities (usability testing, online surveys, focus groups), electronic data capture, reporting, data workflow, performance indicators, databases, Sharepoint, Infopath, Microsoft Office
• Excellent professional writing, reporting and communication skills
• Effective and creative analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to integrate sound research practice with innovative, resourceful methodologies
• Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to adapt quickly to the changing demands of the organization
