The Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management in the Parker College of Business invites applications and nominations for the position of Lecturer.

Within this setting, close to the Port of Savannah, the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Supply Chain Management with emphasis options in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation or Operations and Supply Management. Departmental faculty members also deliver undergraduate and MBA business core classes in operations management, serve the Ph.D. program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and will staff the newly approved Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Faculty members are expected to contribute to the Department’s goal of achieving national distinction in the discipline through academic research and program outcomes. Faculty must also be willing to contribute to student success through activities such as advising, mentoring and collaborative research.
Position Description. Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, the Lecturer position requires teaching and service responsibilities, maintenance of faculty qualifications, and a master’s degree. The ability to contribute to appositive collegial work environment in the Department, Parker College, and University is also expected as well as a strong orientation to recruiting, retaining, and mentoring qualified students. The position is a 9-month non-tenure track appointment, beginning August 1, 2022, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
• Earned master’s degree by August 1, 2022 in logistics, transportation, supply chain, operations
management, or a closely related field; or earned MBA degree by August 1, 2022 with professional
experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, operations management or a closely related field.
• Evidence of effective communication skills
• Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
• Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and
curriculum design and development.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Evidence of above average teaching ability
• Experience in teaching online or an online teaching certificate
• Experience working with a diverse student body or workforce
• 3 years of professional experience in logistics management, transportation management, operations
management, supply management or other closely related supply chain area Conditions of Employment:
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without assistance from the institution.
• All work for Georgia Southern University must be completed while the employee is physically present in the state of Georgia, unless specifically authorized by the university for a specific purpose and limited period of time within current policy.
• Faculty are expected to contribute to the vibrant university community by engaging students, participating in events, and performing other responsibilities on-campus.
• Faculty may be required to teach, conduct research, or perform service duties on any of the three campuses. Georgia Southern provides accessible transportation options between campuses.
